For the series "Motion Sickness”, each photograph was exposed through the window of a rapidly moving automobile with an aperture of f/1.2 and a shutter speed sufficient to freeze motion.  The resultant shallow depth of field and in-camera vignetting help convey my sense of temporal dislocation, an emotional response at odds with the bucolic landscape.  No particular visual opportunity could be anticipated or planned for.  This concatenation of almost intuitive rapid-fire choices was starkly different from my typically contemplative approach to landscape photography, which often included multiple visits to a locale before making an exposure.
